Personal growth and personal development take intentional effort on our part. It is also a key part of being a great parent. We must learn to be intentional about our personal growth and development as well as our parenting.

- Take care of your health

When we are entrusted with the life of a child it can be very easy to focus entirely on that child. Many a mother failed to continue personal care after becoming a mother.
I fell into that trap myself. When I had 3 little people in car seats and diapers I often felt there was nothing left for me after spending all day caring for the needs of others? I neglected my own personal health and I paid a price for that. I was chronically exhausted and struggled to get through each day. I had to come to the place of realizing that I needed to be healthy in order to be the best version of me for my kids. They deserved the best not the worst of me. It can be pretty tough to give those closest to you the best you have to offer when you are not taking care of your health and you have nothing positive left to give anyone.
I don’t know about you but when I don’t feel good that rubs off on everyone and everything around me.
Taking care of you includes things like… eating healthy, exercise, taking supplements and even something as simple as sleep. Many mothers are sleep deprived and run down. This can be a daunting thing to overcome with babies and little people underfoot.
I made it a personal rule that the house could wait. I knew many women who would put the little people down for a nap and then clean their house. I chose to take a nap at the same time as my children realizing that dishes would wait but a tired mommy would have ripple effects on the atmosphere and environment in my home. My children do not remember the condition of the kitchen but they do remember snuggling with mommy at nap time.
Even after my children were much older I still found myself exhausted. I discovered natural supplements that changed everything for me. They helped me be the best version of me.
I want to be healthy and present for my grandchildren. Good, quality supplements are helping make that a reality for me and my family.

Parenting Tips
2. Have a vision or a goal
If you do not know where you want to go… You will end up anywhere and it may not be where you want to be!
It is important to have goals. Goals help us go in the right direction to end up where we want to be. Without defined goals, we are like a ship at sea without a rutter. The wind and waves will toss us about and we will end up washed up on shore wherever the sea wants to take us. Instead, we need to be in command of our lives directing our ship to the harbor of our choice.
I hung a notepad on my fridge and made a to-do list of things I want to do someday. My list includes things like skydiving, learning to swim and exotic locations I want to travel to. It is posted where everyone can see it and my kids sometimes add to my list.
Another thing to create is a dream board. Hang a corkboard on the wall where everyone can see it and start putting pictures of what and where you want to be in the future. Do your kids have dreams and visions? Help them create some for themselves. What do they want to be when they grow up? What are they passionate about?
Help them see that they can be and do anything they set their minds to. Then give them the gift of seeing you reach for your dreams and goals.
